About the Genus

Hoya is a genus of several hundred epiphytic vines native to tropical Asia, Indonesia, New Guinea, and northern Australia. Most grow in the canopy with thick leaves adapted to dry spells between rains. Flowers form in clusters on persistent spurs that rebloom year after year, so those spurs should never be cut. Species vary widely in leaf size, texture, and flower form.

Care

Bright indirect light with some filtered sun; hoyas will not bloom in low light. Water thoroughly when the mix is nearly dry. Use a chunky, fast-draining mix and keep pots snug. Warm temperatures year round. Leave spurs intact after flowering.
